Founded in 2024 in Old Strathcona, Zed Quarters Hair Studio now resides in Newton! For those of you that aren’t familiar- Newton is a small neighborhood next door to Highlands and Montrose tucked in east-central Edmonton. We are LOVING our Newton salon. 2025 was an amazing first year!
We love creating modern looks while including timeless fundamentals of classic hairstyling. Zed Quarters is a boutique-style salon with a green-minded, inclusive group of stylists. The salon holds a maximum of four stylists and currently houses two! We currently have an independent contractor and Kendra (senior stylist/owner). We currently have a chair up for rent!
Zed Quarters has proudly partnered with Green Circle Salons for ethical disposal of salon waste. Being a Green Circle salon means that we separately collect all of our salon waste such as: hair clippings, single-use items, metals, and chemicals. These items are shipped to processing facilities and recycled to their fullest potential.
We are a small shop; therefore, we do not have a receptionist. When you arrive simply let yourself in to the front or back seating, and someone will greet you shortly!
How the pricing works
Pricing is based on three main components: experience level, time elapsed, and product used. It is that simple! Prices are never based on age or gender. Consult with your stylist for a service quote.
Every invoice is subject to a $1.75 environmental fee for our recycling program.
Please note: we do not keep cash on site. If you wish to pay using cash, please bring the exact amount needed.
The fine print
ZED Quarters has a 48 hour cancellation policy Failure to comply will result in a rebooking fee of 50% of the missed appointments value.
Late Policy If you are running behind, please let us know. If you arrive 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time, the stylist may have to adjust your scheduled service. If you are more than 20 minutes late, this will be considered a “missed appointment” and therefore, subject to the cancellation fee. Exceptions are at the discretion of your stylist.
I’m not feeling 100%, what now? If you or anyone in your household is currently unwell, you are required to wear a mask for the entirety of your appointment. We will provide a mask as a courtesy to the staff and salon guests. Our staff will follow the same protocol. If you are too unwell to attend your scheduled appointment(s), please let us know and we will happily reschedule your appointment(s) for a future date, when you are feeling well again.
Why isn’t there a trim option? Cutting hair requires the same steps and procedures regardless of how much hair is actually being removed.
May I bring a friend? Please contact your stylist prior to your appointment if you wish to bring a guest. We have limited seating therefore, this may not always be accommodable. We apologize for the inconvenience.
